Helena-Jane Kilkelly (Kāi Tahu/Pākehā) is an award-winning Ōtepoti (Dunedin, New Zealand) raised independent producer. Her experience is extensive, having produced shows, festivals, practitioner development platforms and workshops for companies nationally and internationally.

H-J was the co-director and producer for Prospect Park Productions and its platforms Ōtepoti Theatre Lab and Ōtepoti Writers Lab (2015-2024), which were launched as responses to critical needs within the southern regions of New Zealand, and has worked as part of the management teams of Dunedin Arts Festival and Otago Polyfest. She is a guest tutor (Bachelor of Performing Arts Management) and Producer for Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School. 

In 2023, H-J was the recipient of the Sir Roger Hall Out of the Limelight Award through The Arts Foundation of New Zealand, a biennial award that gives recognition to those theatre practitioners without whose work most theatre productions could not take place. 

H-J is involved in a number of projects centred around addressing infrastructure, strategy, advocacy and professional development for the arts sector, including the Ringatoi Pōneke:Artists Initiative and as co-lead for Ngā Hua Toi Ōtepoti (advocacy body for Māori theatre and dance).

She has a particular passion for the development of new works from Aotearoa New Zealand, with a strong focus on decolonisation in both practice and presentation.
